NOMINATIONS

Screening
Each nomination is reviewed to ensure it meets the eligibility criteria, with all entries assessed for relevance, accuracy, and alignment with the award’s focus areas.
Evaluation
A panel of respected judges, drawn from across academia, industry, and public sector innovation, evaluates each nominee based on clear criteria: innovation, technical excellence, national relevance, ethical standards, and measurable impact.
Selection
Final honorees are chosen through a consensus-led process, ensuring each selection reflects merit, integrity, and significance to Nigeria’s technological advancement.

Step 1: Open Nominations — Powered by the Community
Innovation is rarely accidental. Behind every leap forward is someone who made it happen.
We begin the process with an open call for nominations from the public. Whether you’re a peer, employer, team member, or an industry observer, you can nominate individuals whose work has made a meaningful difference through technology.
We welcome nominations across disciplines:
From machine learning engineers building smarter systems, to cybersecurity experts protecting digital assets, to UX designers shaping user trust, to civic tech advocates driving transparency, if they’ve used tech to move Nigeria forward, we want to know.
Your nomination helps uncover those who deserve to be seen.
Step 2: Screening — Upholding Integrity, Relevance, and Impact
After nominations close, each submission is reviewed against our core eligibility criteria to ensure credibility and alignment.
We assess:
- Valid professional affiliation or demonstrated portfolio of work
- Alignment with relevant award categories and focus areas
- Measurable contributions to innovation, system improvement, or public good
Only nominees with clear, traceable impact and professional standing progress to the next stage. This safeguards the integrity of our recognition process.
Step 3: Evaluation — Judged by Contribution, Innovation, and Influence
Shortlisted candidates are reviewed by a panel of industry experts, senior practitioners, and subject matter leaders.
We evaluate:
- The depth, quality, and scale of their work
- The originality and technical strength of their innovations
- Their professional values, problem-solving mindset, and consistency over time
